Welcome to 'Herstory'
Dr Miriam Saphira, born in 1941 in Kaimiro, Taranaki, Aotearoa/New Zealand has had 17 solo exhibitions in New Zealand, Australia, London, France and Germany. She has nine books published and has edited two anthologies and has received four awards for her work in the community. Her work includes oil on canvas, and boards, etching and collagraphs on paper, bronzes and ceramics that may augment other works. Most of her work revolve around topical themes including, ancient history, child protection, care of the environment, and issues around growing up as a woman and a lesbian in Taranaki. Her work has been bought for clinics, offices, educational settings as well as Berlin Archives, private collections
and in home décor.
